Our Lady of Guadalupe Confirmation Ministry

Welcome to the Confirmation preparation program at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. If you are new to our church, we welcome you to our faith community. Here is some information about the Sacrament of Confirmation and the preparation process which leads up to this important celebration.

The Sacrament of Confirmation completes the Sacraments of Initiation into full membership in the Catholic Church and seals the presence of the Living Spirit of God already present within the baptized.

The purpose of confirmation preparation process is to awaken candidates to the presence of the Holy Spirit within them and to ask them to consider how they will live their lives as confirmed Catholics.

The godparents and parents chose a life of Christ for each candidate when they are infants or small children. Now each young person is given the opportunity to make that choice for themselves.

Click here for detailed information about the preparation process including dates and attendance requirements. In addition to attending the required preparation classes, candidates demonstrate their readiness to receive this sacrament by the following:

• A personal faith life which shows itself in a personal prayer life and an understanding of the Gospel of Christ and the teachings of the Church.
• A community faith life which shows itself by regular attendance at Sunday Eucharistic Liturgy and participation in parish life.

The date and time of the Confirmation liturgy will be announced as soon as that information becomes available.

Please fill out the registration form and attach a copy of the candidates baptismal certificate, even if he/she was baptized at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. The size of the class in each session will be limited due to the limitations of our resources.

Registration is on a first come/ first served basis with Or Lady of Guadalupe parishioners being given priority in the month of July. The registration fee is $55.00 per candidate and scholarships are available for those who need them. Please return the registration form to the parish office.
